My name is Kristine Schroeder. I live in Vilas County, Wisconsin, a beautiful area dotted with lakes and teeming with wildlife. I've been wire-sculpting jewelry for about five years now, ever since I became fascinated with this ancient art.

History
I'd love to be able to tell you about the art college I attended, but I never went to art college! One day, while browsing through a bookstore, I picked up a book on making wire jewelry. Intrigued by the beautiful necklaces on the cover, I took the book home and tried my hand at wire art. Practicing almost constantly, I improved, but wanted more. Luckily, I found a leading teacher of wire sculpture, and studied his techniques via video. The creativity level exploded!

Galleries? Well, They're Nice, But...
I put some hand-sculpted pieces of jewelry in a gallery in the area where I live, but with their markup...I knew I could do better. I thought, why not bring exquisite handcrafted jewelry - direct - to people of discriminating taste via the Internet? Why not cut out the middleman?

You Can Be Confident - I'm A Stickler For Detail
I scour my suppliers for the absolute finest cameos, sparkliest gems, most eye-pleasing semi-precious stones that I can find.

Cameos are hand-selected by me for the most exquisite carving and prettiest detail, signed by the master carver if possible.

Likewise, I strive to find gems of the most beautiful hue and best quality.

Then, I design a hand-sculpted wire setting around each gem or cameo, creating pendants, earrings, bracelets, and more. Read more about the wire here.
